libuconv-ruby1.8 software package provides Unicode/EUC-JP translation module for Ruby (transitional package), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libuconv-ruby1.8
libuconv-ruby1.8 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libuconv-ruby1.8 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libuconv-ruby1.8 *
You will get with libuconv-ruby1.8 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
